CPC qualifies for the Arizona State Tax Credit as an organization who serves the working poor.
CPC provides services to the working poor, and therefore qualifies for the Arizona state tax credit for the working poor. A married couple filing jointly can make a contribution to CPC and receive dollar-for-dollar tax credit (up to $800 a year) against their Arizona state income tax. A single taxpayer can receive up to a $400 credit. For example: If, as a couple, you owe $1,000 in state taxes, and you give a $800 contribution to CPC, your state tax liability will be reduced to $200 by using form 321 on your Arizona state taxes. Contributors may ALSO take the Private School Tuition Tax Credit, as well as the public school extracurricular activities tax credit. They are each separate programs.
*Remember to include the CPC Qualifying Charitable Organization Code #20443 on your Arizona 321 tax form. This unique number identifies CPC as the organization you donated to.
Did you know you can contribute to CPC, and it may not cost you a penny?
New!!! Starting in October 2009, you can request that your employer “redirect” part of your AZ income tax withholding (up to the qualifying amount) and forward it to CPC. For example, if an employee expects to qualify for the $400 credit, that $400 may be withheld over the remaining number of paydays for the year.
